The modern "western version" of yoga (clubs, spas, exercise classes) completely misses the essence of what yoga actually is. Feuerstein bravely tells it like it is--true yoga is not what you do, but what you are. And here's a news flash: morality is not a dirty word! The amazing thing is that once a person understands and practices yoga, morality is a natural by-product. Buy and read this book only if you genuinely seek transformation. Hold on a second............... Sorry, I wrote my review prematurely; I had only read less than half the book, but I was enjoying and believed it would deliver.... However, the author soon enough resorts to thin analyses and reveals his personal prejudices and bigotries. In the end it was an extremely disappointing book, though the IDEA of it is right on. Not a book I recommend. One star.
