A definitive sampling of World War II photographs from both military and journalistic sources, this book is an excellent primer of the history of the last world war. All of the most famous photos are here, along with many less well known but equally compelling images. For the cost, this is simply a must have for a WWII history fan. Used copies have fallen to the point where you will pay more for shipping than for the actual book, making the book a steal. Highly recommended.
Great collections of photos.

This is a great single source of photos of the war. This is a huge book with 740 pages of great pictures and some black and white maps. It covers all theaters of battle and it shows action on the ground, sea and air. It shows the good and bad of war. It shows heroism and death. Anybody interested in the history of WWII should add this book to your library. In addition to the photos, there is a partial but still impressive chronology of events of the war that will help explain some of the photos. The author in many cases has linked the photos to the events of the chronology to give the reader a better understanding of the events happening as you turn the page. The book is very well done and is recommended.
