When Kristin Armstrong was in the pit of her divorce, she eagerly read every spiritual book and devotional she could get her hands on out of a hunger to connect with someone who knew exactly what she was going through and how she felt. Now, at a time when society offers so many conflicting messages about what it means to be a woman, Kristin invites readers to discover grace as a way of life. Using real-life anecdotes, biblical wisdom, and insight born of hard experience, Kristin teaches women the twelve traits of grace, inviting reflection and interaction. Warm, engaging, and practical, WORK IN PROGRESS examines what God has to say about being His kind of woman in the twenty-first century.
I enjoyed this book so much and was impressed with the godly wisdom of one so young. This book will evoke both tears and laughter and by the time you finish, you will want to have "Sunflower" as a best friend. She incorporates Scripture and some great stories from her own life. She obviously takes life as a Christian woman very seriously but also knows how to enjoy and get the most out of the life God has given. The best part is that the book reveals how to get the most out of your own life and how to be on the way to becoming the woman God meant you to be.

This book is a wonderful book. You can read it one chapter at a time and then take time to reflect on what you have read. It really helps you grow spiritually and realize that we are all a work in progress.

In her book Kristin Armstrong has chosen twelve traits of Grace to explore. She uses these traits to help us find what God finds pleasing instead of what society tells us is pleasing. All of us are pulled in so many directions and get so many mixed messages that sometimes it's difficult to sort out who we are as women and who God wants us to be. Kristin gives us some insight on how to do this. I'd rank this up with John and Stasi Eldredge's "Captivating" in books that all women should read. What a boost it will give you in your confidence and about your place in God's eyes. The best part is that Kristin inserts many relevant Bible passages you can refer back to easily. She also writes with a great sense of humor! I really loved this book. It really was a refresher that I needed right now. Work In Progress is very uplifitng and inspirational, and would be great for any women on your gift list. This would also be one of a great book for teen/young adult women. http;//martasmeanderings.blogspot.com
