Mythology is one of my big interests. Thus, when I saw this book in the library, I was quick to check it out. And wasn't disappointed."Women in Mythology" is not very long, but it's detailed. It describes...well, you can tell by the title. What thrilled me the most about it was that it _wasn't_ just a book on Greek goddesses. It talked about all sorts of mythological women, from Hebrew to Irish (think Cu Chulainn) to Sumerian to Chinese. It really did succeed at being a "world mythology" book. The mythology it did include about women in Greece and Rome was about the Illiad and the Aeneid more than anything else.It was a bit too short to be a complete reference...but that was my only objection. Overall, a good book.
