Witness to the Execution: The Odyssey of Amelia Earhart

This book is a great read for anyone interested in what happened to Amelia Earhart. T.C. "Buddy" Brennan traveled to the Marshall Islands and Saipan to interview people who had seen her. According to his sources, she came down or was shot down near Kwajalein in the Japanese Protectorates, later called the Marshall Islands, and then in WW II was taken to the island of Saipan, where she was executed by the Japanese before the American invasion. Buddy Brennan said that Admiral Nimitz knew what had happened to Amelia Earhart. Many people on the island of Saipan claimed to have seen her. I personally met some people from Saipan one time who said that their grandparents said she was there. Buddy Brennan documents his interviews and sources. He also made a videotape of the same title (difficult to find now) about what he found, which is absolutely fascinating. There is at least evidence to support his beliefs, whatever others may choose to believe. I am a woman pilot and a member of the 99s (women pilots' group). K. Clark
