An Invaluable Collection

The Wisdom of the Arabs is an invaluable collection of Arab proverbs. Among my favorite: "Acquire knowledge. It enableth its possessor to distinguish right from wrong; it lighteth the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our society in solitude, our companion when friendless; it guideth us to happiness; it sustaineth us in misery; it is an ornament amongst friends, and an armour against enemies." ~ Hadith I received this book as a gift in 2004 and have been reading and rereading it ever since. Every time that I do, I discover something new.

Excellent Book

Suheil Bushrui has done an excellent job in this compilation. The best that I have seen. Great for your library or to give as a gift. The author demonstrates the great literary contribution of the Arabs.
