The 1926 book "Winnie-the-Pooh" by A. A. Milne is set in the Hundred Acre Wood, with short stories about the adventures of a teddy bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, and friends he knew, Christopher Robin, Piglet, the donkey Eeyore, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga, and Roo. Milne and illustrator E. H. Shepard collaborated on the publication, with the teddy bear Shepard modelled after his son's toy. The boy is patterned after Milne's son, Christopher Robin Milne, and his toys were inspiration for the characters in Winnie-the-Pooh, which has been translated into more than 50 languages.
