The burning streets of the Phoenix summer provide the setting for a night on the town gone terribly wrong. Writer and sexist womanizer Billy Wilewski finds himself wandering the city in the murderous heat of the monsoon season with but a dim idea of how he got there. As his memory returns he finds himself in the hands of the law under suspicion of murder. Shootings, mayhem and chases soon follow leading to events both criminal and self-revelatory for Billy. Crooked agents, hair care and big birds all play a part in this tale that could only happen in the heat-crazed desert of a corrupt and gun-happy Arizona.
