Steve Swinburne's Adventures of Wiff and Dirty George
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
Steve Swinburne made the debut of his very first Juvenile Fiction book with WIFF AND DIRTY GEORGE The Z.E.B.R.A. (Zipper Extraction Button Removal Atom-Smasher) Incident. Known for his well-researched and interesting non-fiction books for children, Steve plunged headlong into flights of fantasy with Wiff and Dirty George and an assortment of mad characters. This book will entertain the nine to twelve year old set in the U.S. and U.K. and children of all ages who like adventures and solving myteries. One would hope that the Z.E.B.R.A. Incident is the first in a zany series and that a movie that would delight theatre-goers would be forth-coming. Mary Butera, Librarian/Director S. Londonderry Free Library
What an adventure!

I've just finished reading this absolutety zany and fun adventure! I had to read it myself before sending it off to my 12 year old nephew. I was intriqued by the blurb on the back...decided to check it out for myself. I'm so glad I did. Not only do I think that my nephew is going to love it, I think all his friend will as well. Good clean fun with a little mystery and a mad amount of adventure. Filled with train rides, chase scenes and even a secret tree elevator! The main characters are friends I certainly would have related to, albeit with a little suspention of reality. Isn't that what childhood is all about... Imagination, adventure, friends and family?!(maybe with a side of strong knots and wholesome dirt) You'll have to read it to figure that out! I would definitely reccommend this book... it's written well, fun to read, and most of all it leaves you wanting more.
Wiff and Dirty George

My 10 year old daughter loved this book so much that she emailed her review directly to the author. She said, "Hi .Your book was outstanding. The dictionary in the back was helpful. I love how the flying bug helicopter was solar powered, and the ways the boys trap was a clock and a glass bubble and a gravity shoe. The book had adventure, mystery, and good characters. I will be looking forward to your next book."
Wiff and Dirty George

Just finished reading Wiff and Dirty George by Stephen Swinburne with my nine year old son, and we both loved it. We zipped through the book in almost no time, my son just kept wanted to see what was going to happen next. Very imaginative and well written! Can't wait until the next book in the series
Couldn't put it down, had to read it cover-to-cover in one sitting. Was upset when it ended, I wanted to read more adventures with these two kids. Perfect blend of suspense, sci-fi, humor, and fantasy at it's best even for the most reluctant of readers. Also had one of my 4th grade boy readers give me a review. When I asked if he liked it, his ear-to-ear grin said it all. Stephen Swinburne's nonfiction and this first fiction venture are books that kids should experience in their lifetime, top notch reads!
