Jess, her men, and her friends

The book details a period of time in the life of Jess Lathim. She was a political researcher for a member of the British Parliament Basil Asquith. Soon after she starts working for him they start an affair, even though he is married. He told her that the marriage was in name only and they hadnt had sex since their second son was born. After a win for the party Jess finds out that that is not true when she walks in on the pair in his room. One night while out with her friends Jess meets Mike a reporter for a not respected newspaper. She gives him the scoop about the affair and finds herself under media scrutiny.Even though Jess is mad at Mike for publishing her story they are soon an item and on the way to a friends wedding in NYC they get married. Jess soon finds herself pregnant, but starts getting an inkling that Mike is cheating on her. This leads to some hilarious insistences of her going undercover to find out the truth and then getting her revenge when she finds out that he actually was cheating. Added to this are Jess' friends. Carley who went around the world looking for her ex's to find the love of her life; Kate a married mother who just gave birth to her third child and has a crush on a guy they call "Bob the Builder" ; Sarah a divorced mother of two who marries one of Carley's ex's Nick; and Carol a model who marries Carley's brother Cal and is not thrilled when she finds out she is pregnant with twins.

Quick, excellent read

I normally don't like 'chick lit' or fluff, but I couldn't put this book down. This book was written for every woman who knows that her girlfriends will invariably be more reliable than any man. A real friend is one who helps you get revenge on a man who scorned you. The author's quick wit and dialogue had me laughing and really getting attached to the characters.

Shari Low has a wonderful writing style and breathes life into every character. The story was hilarious; I couldn't put the book down.
