Christians Can Be Funny

What makes humor good is the truth behind it. Robert Hansen takes common subjects, such as waiting in the car while his wife shops "for a few minutes," and turns them into witty humor. This volume is a collection of more than forty entertaining articles published in his newspaper humor column. His wit reminds me of a mixture of columnist Dave Barry and author Bill Bryson. But, what he has written is never crude and is uniquely his own. His second book, a children's story titled, A Bully's Doom, is set for release in early 2007. Bob's writing career dates back over twelve years and includes weekly humor columns in his hometown newspaper, The Chronicle, and the Oregon Christian Journal. For over ten years, he has met with and now leads a small writer's critic group. It was there that we met and where he has mentored me for more than a year. Bob does an excellent job of taking the ordinary events of life, putting a Christian spin on them, and making it all very funny. Each article is easily readable in less than ten minutes.
