My favourite book on suffering & struggles in ministry

Michael Duncan, Who Stands Fast: Discipleship in Difficult Places (Melbourne: UNOH, 2005) Mick and Ruby Duncan have served in community development in the Philippines and pastured churches in Australia and New Zealand. He draws on his experiences - from the drug culture as a young adult, incarnational mission in the Philippines, ethical dilemmas in pastoral ministry and personal and vocational crises - to explore where God is in mission and in suffering. Some writers are able to say, `God led me through this challenge for this reason' but Duncan has no such easy answers for his readers, because he does not have those answers for himself. His challenge is to stand fast in the face of unanswered questions. His discussion ranges across prayer, spiritual warfare, outrage against poverty, and philosophical tsunamis and intellectual interruptions that he has grappled with. Who Stands Fast is an outstanding book on radical discipleship. See also his Wild Ones (Melbourne: UNOH, 2006) and Costly Mission (Melbourne: UNOH, 2007). Originally reviewed in Darren Cronshaw `The Emerging Church: Spirituality and Worship Reading Guide.' Zadok Papers S159 (Autumn 2008).
CAN GOD BE TRUSTED?

Michael Duncan is challenging in this book. Not sure why things have happened in your life? Especially the bad things? Then you need to read this book. It is a great balance of personal experience in God, and also BIBLICAL TRUTHS. I would recommend this to all people searching for God, or reasons for horrible things happening in their lives.
