How To Make Your Infant Laugh

I bet you've heard, as I did, that it's important to read to your infant before he or she seems to you to be old enough to enjoy a book's content. You've probably struggled with a fidgety baby on your lap as you attempt to read Goodnight Moon or other classics. My two sons both responded with unprecendented enthusiasm to this little book. They had never heard me sing "When You're Happy and You Know It", but I think the sing-song as I read helped them get into the spirit. The lyrics are easy to act out ("bang a pan" and others can be done in the air) and they bounce to show me they love every page! Believe it or not, at only 11 months, they learned to understand the question, "Again?" This book was the catalyst. They both got that stiff back babies get when they heard it, which I took to mean I should read it again. I was right, and we've read this book 100 times!
