This was my first book on cd. I usually buy the books, but since I seem to be spending more time in my car commuting, I figure why not give it a try! Boy am I glad I did. The story itself was quite interesting and was finding myself not wanting to get out of my car. The story is told by Joyce Bean and she was a great reader. I will be looking for other stories as read by her. Just gave the cd to a friend and so far she too agrees. enjoy!

If you are a John Saul reader, you don't need a review. You already know how good he is. If you are not a reader already, then get this book and get started. You will be hooked like the rest of us already are.
Very Chilling Book

This was my seventh Saul book. I first discovered him with The Right Hand of Evil. I don't think I can forget this book. The thing about crying was pretty powerful, so many parents cant stand children crying and they get yelled at hit and/or abused for crying. Also the Indian superstition was interesting whether or not its true. (I am very interested in folklore and superstitions as a study mostly.) And being from Los Angeles the "wind blowing" reminded me of the Santa Anas, which is mentioned in the book also.

This was the first John Saul book I read and it truly scared me silly! I can honestly say I didn't sleep well at night for a good two weeks! From that moment, I was a devoted fan of John Saul's work. He's an excellent writer and this book was one of the best ones he has written.

I Have been a John Saul fan for many years and thought that this was a very well written book. I think it is one of John Saul's best. The character Christine Lyons is very well developed in my opinion. A very chilling book. I would recomend it to other readers
