Like in her other mystery thriller books, Hayden has once again crafted an enjoyably gripping story with characters it's easy to care about. Although Bronson's wife Carol is off-screen for most of the book, her influence on Harry forms an integral part of the plot, grounding Harry when he is in danger and giving him a reason to survive.
Family ties can bind -- or they can strangle. This mystery crime novel gives us a story rife with both sorts of ties. This one's a real winner.

Hayden sucks you into the story on the first page with her talent for devising unique and unexpected plot twists. The action is non-stop and, as Harry struggles to learn the identity of the murder, he must face his past.
