In 1980 in Toledo, Ohio--on one of the holiest days of the church calendar--the body of a nun was discovered in the sacristy of a hospital chapel. Seventy-one-year-old Sister Margaret Ann had been... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Ok the title to this post was bad but it did take place in Toledo, Ohio (about 50 miles from my back yard)And it was holy! about a murder that stunned the nation. A Catholic priest kills a nun in the Church no less and gets away with it for about 20 years.I remember this actually. Toledo is not a good town as far as crime goes but this just left people speechless. A Priest!!! Basically this was a story of the corruption of the police dept. and the Catholic church and public. The case goes cold for like I said 20+ years then a new batch of politicians and church members and people come to the police station asking the detectives to reopen the case. They bust the priest about a couple of years ago big news not just here everywhere. This book had it's boring moments as do all true crime but what intrigued me the most about this book was two reasons, #1 It was local and I remember it. #2 How religion corrupts things.

It is amazing to me the cover ups in our society...this story is just about this subject.
It sounds scary. It is scary.

Mr. Rosen has crafted one of those page turners that helps us survive those long waits at the doctor/airport/high school detention. Satanic signs! Dark, strange churches at night! The senseless, grotesque murder of a nun! Seriously kool stuff. And it's all true -- like the Catholic Church doesn't have plenty to worry about already. I don't think they have enough hail Mary's to cover this one. I'd love to see this as a movie. It definitely creeped me out.
