What is Right? is Etan Boritzer's 6th title in his best selling What is? life concepts series. This title addresses issues of integrity and fairness for children. If your neighbor's orange tree has a branch full of oranges hanging over his fence into your backyard, is it right to help yourself to a few oranges? What is Right? asks the child to consider many issues and situations related to making wholesome choices in life. With witty and bright illustrations by Graham Sale.
I love these "What is..." books. My grandsons and I have spent at least 30-45 minutes on each book. We don't just read it. We discuss it and applications. I ask them to give me specific circumstances and we discuss what is right and why, or what is wrong and why. In addition, the book touches on situations that are gray areas. We discuss this also and why they are gray areas; what would make this situation a right situation and what would make it a wrong situation. either of my grandsons 6 and 8 1/2 wanted to read the book at first. After we finished they both wanted to go on to the "What is funny?" book. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good stimulus for talking about morals with kids.
