Fun Science Projects For Yonger Students - Recommended

"Weird Science: 40 Strange-Acting, Bizarre-Looking, and Barely Believable Activities for Kids" is a fairly good collection of some unusual science projects, geared to 5th - 8th grade levels. We have a lot of science project books and this one was a good addition to our collection. The projects are fairly interesting and most can be done with household objects. My only complaint is that a few of the experiments do require items that may may be hard for some students to get, like slugs, dry ice, and mail order bacteria. This is a minor issue since you can learn a good bit from even these projects just by reading the description and explanations. Some things I really did like about the projects were the inclusion of both quick (less than one or two minute) and long duration experiments (some well over a month), and some very helpful suggestions for taking the listed experiments even further. A really good book of experiments, recommended!
