Great intro to financial planning

I'm a financial planning newbie who would really rather read a good novel. But Wealth Strategies managed to be informative without being boring. It's written in a friendly style that manages to explain without talking down to readers. I particularly liked the chapter that explains why you need different financial strategies at different points in your life and gives examples of how those strategies might be implemented. Disclosure: I know the author.

Good, solid, factual informaiton

Being in the life/health/annuity business I read a lot of financial books targeted toward consumers and most are good but some, like this one, are VERY GOOD. The book does what it says it is intended to do... provide basic info on financial planning. I thought that the early chapters were a bit TOO basic, but the later chapters were excellent, especially Lesson 9 on tax-advantaged investments. I will recommend this book to my friends and clients.
