This book is fantastic! It truly takes you on a walk with God and reminds us how much He loves us. . .excellent study.

Jesus is never too far away to help you

Reviewed by Lori Plach for Reader Views (12/07) "And He walks with me and He talks with me." Perhaps you have heard the hymn "He Lives." While it is a beautiful song, do you ever feel like God is right there beside there no matter what you are experiencing at any particular time? And maybe you have seen the beautiful poem which is entitled "Footprints in the Sand" where it is God carrying you. Catherine Martin has written an excellent book about God walking with you no matter what the circumstances. This is a book about finding hope when you need it the most. The book is divided into 30 days. While an average month contains 30 days, the reader could take one section of this book each day and feel revived in their faith and conviction in God. Or you may find that you will need to go to a particular section to find that hope. I particularly liked the use of acronyms throughout the pages. "Hope is holding on with patient expectation." Patience is so hard to achieve when faced with some of the trials of this world. Ms. Martin has a P.R.A.Y.E.R Quiet Time plan included. Prayer is so important to help us through the bumps in the road. No one ever said it was going to be easy for a Christian to go through this life. But we can be assured that we are not going alone. Catherine Martin has a very easy to read and understand writing style. She does an excellent job in utilizing scripture verses and references to other people's work to bring her points across. At the end of each "day," she allows you to note what the key verse is a further thought and an area to write down in the book a specific lesson to apply the principles presented on that day. "Walking with the God Who Cares" has been a blessing to me and my family as my husband lost his job and has had to wait on the Lord to give him direction as to where to best serve Him. God promises us that "never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." What a comfort to know that no road will be too difficult to handle; we have someone who will help us. I plan on reading all of this talented author's works and look forward to any future books that she may write. If only we could be like the two men who were walking to Emmaus that first Easter Sunday. They had the opportunity to walk and talk with Jesus. Through the pages of "Walking with the God Who Cares," we, too, can be walking and talking with Jesus. He never is too far away to help you along life's way.
