This book is a good read, a deep and insightful book, it is harsh at times, it is sometimes unbelievable to read what happens in the lives of incarcerated people. We all have to read this book, to see what warehousing all these millions of people does to us as a society. Do we really want to treat other human beings this way. This is a good read for anybody interested in the subject of Human Interest, politics, human rights issues etc. It is worth reading, and it is certainly going to touch the heart of all readers. It has definitely convinced me once and for all that the death penalty serves no purpose in a modern day society.

This book has opened up new avenues for me in my understanding of the emotional needs of Death Row prisoners. Rossi actually helps the reader understand the day to day thinking of someone on Death Row. We have all seen the usual fare of prison high drama; this book goes beyond that. It offers a stunning insight into a crumbling system from the point of view of an end-user. I thoroughly recommend "Waiting to Die" for anyone who wants to go that step further into understanding how it really feels to be under sentence of death and caught firmly in the jaws of the judicial killing machine.
