Solid overview

This book features 40 full-page, accurate reproductions. They mostly focus on his smaller, early to mid-career pictures. The text offers a good treatment of each of those. In addition, there is a nice overview of Vuillards's career. The book is large, and the plates are big, there is a lot of clarity in the reproductions. This is not the most thorough treatment of Vuillard's work, of course! There are huge volumes devoted to that. Its value is in the large and accurate reproductions of some of his most intimate small paintings.
