Obsessed with making the killer of his fiance pay after he's acquitted, Rob is approached by a strange man who tells him about The Circle, a small group of people with one thing in common: all want... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Brian Pinkerton has done it once again. After thrilling us with Abducted, he now treats us to Vengeance, which will grab you from the first page. Not only does the book have an excellent premise, but we feel the emotions of Rob so strongly, it's almost as if the characters came to life. I felt Rob's anger and frustration so strongly, that I myself wanted revenge on Shepard! This author has alot of talent and I know that I am already eagerly anticipating his next novel!
Very good premise

Our main character (Rob) has just proposed to his girlfriend. On the way home, on their bikes, a motorist with road rage deliberately rams them with his car and kills the girlfriend. While Rob tries to convince police that the motorist (a prominent attorney) deliberately killed his girlfriend, the killer gets off with no jail time. This freaks out Rob who can't let go of the murder. During all of this, a mysterious person introduces himself and asks Rob to join "the Circle". Basically, 10 people wearing mask meet in a room. They all have in common on thing - they want revenge agains a person who killed their loved ones. This thriller is actually a very clever premise. i.e. you can't kill your fiance's murderer because you will be an automatic suspect, BUT you can get someone else to do it and then you can return the favor. I really enjoyed the storyline. You feel for the main character Rob and you even feel for the other characters (who are never truly fleshed out all that much). There is also a very clever turn in this storyline that you may not see coming. The writing is good although the author tends to go on and on about small details. However, the suspense is there and I found myself leafing through the pages at an alarming rate - dying to see the story unfold. Excellent purchase.
