haunting

Spare and glancing yet heart-breaking. One of those novels that leave you reeling for a few days. Bang was able convey in a few sentences what it took his contemporaries densely written chapters to get at. When I ordered my copy several years ago, there were half a dozen Bang offerings; now we're down to two. Not a good sign.
