Although initially afraid that she'll lose her best friend unless they prepare for their bat mitzvahs together, Becky undergoes a change in her thinking that puts much more than her friendship in jeopardy.
The author of Turning Thirteen is Susan Beth Pfeffer. It is about a Jewish girl name Becky who gets in trouble for not knowing her 50 States and capitals. It is also about Becky who has a bestfriend name Dina, they have been bestfriend since before they were born.Their mothers took matenity classes together. Becky is getting jealous because Dina is spending time with a new girl in class name Amy Ford. Amy is not a jewish, she is Becky's complete opposite,Amy is super polite, super conscientious and now super friends with Dina. This book is a very good book to read,it also tells how Becky had to make adult choices. Kids who are turing 13 or are 13 could relate to this book. I would recommend this book for any young reader who is ready to challenge child hood assumptions for the first time or who already has.

Every time I finished a chapter of this book, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Even though this book wasn't the most exciting book I've ever read, it still made me want to keep reading. Turning Thirteen is about a girl of the age of thirteen who was Jewish. Her best friend was drifting away from her so she got the idea of sharing a Bat Mitzvah with her. But soon after, the girl realized that she was an athiest. You'll never want to put the book down after reading the first chapter.I recomend that you read it.
