What a treat to pick up a new Jordan Lacey mystery

And, if anything, this one may be better than the last, Ring and Die. Jordan is regularly visiting a good friend who is in the hospital while she herself is still recuperating from an accident with a suit of armour. Even though she is tired and emotionally drained, she accepts two new cases. One is to find an elderly pensioner's stolen rabbits and chickens. Her second case is unusual in that her client, Holly Broughton, has already been acquitted of attempting to murder her husband. Even though she is innocent, the ordeal has had an adverse impact on her marriage to her older, very wealthy husband, Richard. She wants Jordan to find out who framed her and why. While working the resolution of these two cases, Jordan goes back to the pub, Medieval Hall, to see if she can find any evidence as to why the suit of armour fell from its plinth causing her injuries. The book moves along at a quick pace right up to its satisfying conclusion. I couldn't put it down until the last page had been read. Hopefully there will be an eighth (and more) Jordan Lacey mystery in the not too distant future.
