Turandot is a lyric drama in three acts and five scenes written by Giuseppe Adami. The story is set in ancient China and revolves around the beautiful and cold-hearted Princess Turandot, who has sworn to never marry. Suitors who wish to win her hand must answer three riddles correctly, but failure to do so results in execution. The story follows the attempts of a Prince from a foreign land, Calaf, to win Turandot's heart, despite the dangers involved. Along the way, he meets and falls in love with the slave girl Li�����, who sacrifices herself to save him. The opera features memorable music by composer Giacomo Puccini, including the famous aria ""Nessun dorma.""
