When Lucas McAllister shows up in Canada, he's hell-bent on getting justice for his late partner. He's sent to bring in Max on charges, but quickly decides she's innocent. He knows he needs her and any information she possesses to find the real killers, but in order to get her to cooperate, he must first earn her trust. Max doesn't believe Lucas is on her side, but with the other men after her; she has little choice but to go with him. Max thinks she knows who the killer is, but she needs to find concrete proof. Both are bound and determined to find the killers, and trying to avoid getting personal at the same time. They both have trust issues from the past and let the slightest misunderstandings get between them. Their journey to each other is full of many comedic moments and some serious ones too. Trust Me is one whirlwind of thrills after another. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what was going on, and who could be trusted. I was also in stitches over some of the snarky banter between Max and Lucas. The moods changed flawlessly from one scene to the next, and made visualizing them wonderfully easy.
