"Inspiring"!

Bobby Petrocelli came to my school and shared his life story with our Junior and Senior class just before prom. He spoke about how great his life was, not thinking that it could change in a matter of "10 seconds". He grew up an Italian boy in New York, with dreams like every other boy to be a Major League Baseball player. As he grew up and went to college he married his "Texas Belle", Ava Dorsett. Bobby couldn't ask for more, a beautiful wife, a job coaching football and baseball at Santa Fe High School. His day started at 7 a.m and ended at 11 p.m. When he went home one night he found Ava and a big bowl of Rigatoni waiting for him. Now he was set. As they relaxed for a while, and then crawled in to bed as the normally did and said their prayers. One hour later Bobby woke up, only not in his bed. He woke up with a 3/4 ton pick up truck in his housen with Bobby in his dining room. The man driving the truck was drunk. The accident had taken Ava's life and left Bobby with burn marks that he will have to look at everyday to remind him of the accident. As time passed Bobby was strong enough to except the tragedy that changed his life forever. He found love again with a woman named Suzanne and had a son, Alec. He goes to other schools and tells his tragedy,this has touched many teens and changed their life for the better. This book put me into tears, but it changes how you make your decisions. It's an unfortunate true story that nobody should miss out on reading.

Heartbreaking yet warming story

The book, Tragedy to Triumph, is a very sad but true story. It is a book that tells of an Italian boy who started his life out well. As time went on things got better and better, until the one day that his whole life flashed before his eyes. As Bobby Petrocelli grew he was a star football player who had a dream of becoming a major league baseball player. He dreams changed, as does everyone's. Bobby became a teacher and a football coach for a high school in Texas. He married his sweetheart and they became the best of friends. One night he came home to his wife who had just made him a big bowl of pasta. What more does an Italian guy like, but a big bowl of pasta and a beautiful wife. After they ate their dinner they then relaxed on the couch and soon after that they went to bed. As they were fast asleep a big pickup truck came crashing through the bedroom wall. The pickup ran right over Bobby's wife and also over Bobby. The next thing Bobby new he was asking the drunk man who was driving the truck where his wife was. "How could this happen, where is my wife?" The drunk man not only ran over Bobby's wife but also Bobby himself. Bobby was rushed to the hospital and treated for the burn marks left on his body by the tires that ran over him earlier. Bobby's wife was also rushed to the hospital but she was pronounced dead once she arrived. Bobby was so confused about what had happened. He wanted to know where his wife was and all the doctors could tell him was that he would find out later. As luck would have it Bobby soon found out that his wife was dead. He was very heartbroken. The love of his life had now left him and he didn't know what to do. He kept on telling everyone to live their lives to the fullest because 10 seconds can change your life forever. Bobby now is married to a beautiful girl, Suzanna, they also have a baby named Alec. Bobby now goes around to different school functions and club conferences telling his story which has went from a tragedy to a triumph. His story is very inspirational. I would recommend this book to anyone. Not only has this touched my heart but it also has touched the heart of many high school and college students.

A personal story and a philosophy of "10 Seconds," combines together to bring about one of the most touching and victorious stories I have ever read. It was in the Fall of 1985 that the life of Bobby Petrocelli was changed for the future that was in store. Petrocelli and his wife Ava, of one year, were sleeping in their bed as their normal nightly routine. When Pretrocelli woke, he found him self not in his bed but in his dining room with his body spread out through a shattered window where he had been thrown. His wife lay helpless, wrapped in a sheet, underneath the truck that had thrashed through the Petrocelli's new home, and that also threw Bobby from his own bed. As Petrocelli came to consciousness he saw the flashing lights and people that had came to his rescue. He began to ask where his wife was. After several tries they said she didn't make it. He couldn't make any sense out of that. After all he was just resting next to her less than five minutes from that moment. It was then that the life of Bobby Petrocelli would have a new position in the world. Bobby Petrocelli claims to have a strong upbringing that held him together during all those times of strife. It was his foundation that held him standing and that now motivates youth throughout the country today. This book is all about faith and building yourself up. Petrocelli uses his own inspirational "ups" and "downs" to bring young and old to finding them self and self help. He mentions times about college, his dreams, rude awakenings, hurtful truth, grief process, forgiving, family and friends, triumphant living, making a difference and much, much more. The main point that Petrocelli gets across is the ten second rule. Have you ever really paused for a full ten seconds? Try it and think about how much can happen in that amount of time. For Bobby Petrocelli, "10 Seconds" is all it took for the world to take his bride and his home and to change the way he would live for the time to come. I had the wonderful opportunity to not only read Bobby Petrocelli's book but to also hear him speak at a youth gathering in Missoula, Montana. This man has a passion for the youth today. He changed the way I will think forever. You haven't heard or read inspirational material until you have heard or read anything relating to Bobby Petrocelli. I strongly urge you to grab a hold of this book and be amazed at the 181 pages of inspirational experiences and how you can change the way you think of everyday things that might not be there the next day.

The most amazing book I have read in quite some time!

Bobby Petrocelli is one of the most awe-inspiring individuals I have ever met. His book (like his lectures) generate self-realization and self-actualization. I have formed a new outlook on life...I have learned to forgive people.

It changed my life forever.

This was a great book by a great man.He came to speak at my high school and his words changed my life.I now think before I act.Three days after he came to my high school,my uncle suddenly passed away.It was tough,but I got through it the way Bobby said to.He is a great man, and it is a great book.
