This book is full of excellent information and advice on working with draft horses. It is very intelligently written and a bit wordy. One has to be willing and able to read through the author's philosophical, thoughtful, witty--often drawn-out--writing to glean the solid advice he shares. This is an excellent book for literate teamsters.

Great Book! I learned a lot of useful stuff.

I am a beginner teamster. By beginner I mean I own to young Belgian draft horses who haven't been trained to pull, and have never driven a team of horses myself. This book gave me a new understanding of horses and how to train them. It helped build my confidence and has reselted in a vast improvement in my communications with my horses. My daughter has a young qurater horse foal and the training principle's taught in this book have really helped her also. Lynn Miller has a great understandong of horses and people and communicates his understanding in a plain and simple way. He give easy to follow instructions and many examples of his techniques. I highly recommend this book.

I agree that this book is awsome. Nothing any better has been written on the subject for sure. I strongly recommend it... But! Don't buy the overpriced "used" copies they list. I found this book more useful than any other on the subject of training horses. It is in plain old english, easy for anyone to understand. Along with telling you how to do something there are step by step photos so you know exactly what the guy is talking about. Anyone that is training horses to drive or work should have this book. It's good for general training too.
