7 month old LOVES it!

I'll admit it. I bought this book because I saw it in the store in the middle of Christmas season and figured it would make a nice, inexpensive gift or stocking stuffer for my 7 month old daughter. She already has over 100 books, many of them "classic" board books. And, even though this book looked kind of boring by comparison, I think I bought it just because I thought it was pretty. Boy, were my husband and I surprised to see how much she LOVES this book! It is very simple, and the place for her to "feel" on each page is easy to see and easy to reach. Plus, unlike some books, the texture or "feel"-ing is different on each page. This book alone taught my daughter to reach out and "feel" in books. She puts out her hand on each page exactly to the right spot, and waits with anticipation for the next page. She has other touch and feel books, but none are as big as a hit as this one. I also find her expressing more interest in her other books, now that she "gets" this one. I also like that there isn't really a "story" to it. I try reading her books like "Guess How Much I Love You," which has more of a story, but she doesn't quite get them yet. THIS she gets, and she's enthralled.
