A quality graphic novel for the lower elementary student and/or reluctant reader

This graphic novel is clever. The nice black and white illustrations and science fiction/sports theme "hook" the child into the story and then the author infuses little historical facts into the story so the child is learning without necessarily knowing it! If your child likes baseball or science fiction and is more encouraged to read when there are pictures, I think you will like this book. It is a simple story and is a nice length for reading right before bedtime. I gave it five-stars because it engaged my child, the illustrations added to the story (rather than being distracting or too small), and I thought it was great that the author slipped in historical facts into the story to put some extra educational value into the book. Hope this helps other parents out there. :)
