Surrounded by stunning scenery, and gearing up to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, Vancouver is regularly voted one of the most livable cities in the world. Time Out s local experts cover all of this sophisticated yet neighborly city in this illustrated guide. They direct readers not only to where to dine, stay, and play in Vancouver proper, but also into the fascinating surrounding area, from snowcapped Whistler to storied British-style Victoria, the unique ecosystem of wine-producing Okanagan, and the splendid diversity of the Gulf Islands."
This guide pointed me in the right direction to some offbeat sights in Vancouver on a recent 3 day holiday. I liked the organization of the book, and the easy to follow maps on the back with color coded locators that corresponded to the descriptions in the guide sections. Neatly organized in discreet, logical sections, with many off-the-beaten-path recommendations for lodging and food. There was no current "lonely planet" guide, so I chose this since it seems to be aimed at the same type of audience.
