This is the fifth part of the "poems for Veronica" series. It was planned as a book with epigraphs all drawn from Gertrude Stein, until an early version of section three of this book was posted online by Veronica Falletta as a manifesto/love letter in poetic form. McLean immediately switched to section two, comprised of poems with epigraphs that were all taken from this text. Both the Falletta section & the McLean sections are written fairly spontaneously since, according to Ginsberg's dictum, "first thought is best". It's pretty much a toss-up as to which of them was most manic when it comes to section two and section three. McLean would like to thank Duende, a cat whom neither he nor Falletta has ever met, for making all this happen.
