People giving this bad reviews clearly miss need to take themselves and their homes less seriously. The book is very funny, and also you do pick up a few bits of information you might not otherwise know...the author certainly doesn't purport to have visited every town in the country such that it is some sort of scientific study - it is for fun, people. This book is a classic. Us Americans tend to take ourselves a bit too seriously, and this book, a look at american towns at their worst, is a great outsider's perspective about what's "worst" about America. This is classic British humor and satire. Unfortunately, the others that have reviewed the book seemed to have missed the humor and instead concentrate, inexplicably, on mispellings and punctuation. I'm sure some will be surprised that there is a similar book called Crap Towns of the UK and a book called Crap Cars. It's called humor, people, just read and enjoy it.
