Great, non-obvious options for pasta lovers

It's a darned shame that this book is out of print, because The World's Best Noodles is a very good little cookbook. Chapters are devoted to Asian egg and wheat noodles; European and American egg noodles; buckwheat noodles; bean threads and other vegetable based noodles; rice sticks; and couscous. You won't find Yet Another Tomato Sauce here or One More Pasta Primavera. The book is chock full of both traditional dishes (such as a truly homemade American tuna-noodle casserole, and our favorite recipe from this book), ethnic favorites (Russian Kasha Varnishkes with buckwheat groats), and unusual dishes you wouldn't have invented on your own (such as silver noodle salad with grilled shrimp and chili-lime dressing, or breakfast couscous with dates and almonds). If you can lay your hands on a used copy of this book, DO. You won't be sorry; this is such a nice cookbook!
