This should have been a Movie

Almost all Short's Westerns are first rate but this one is in a class of it's own. Probably inspired by the real life J.A.Slade this tells how one man cleans up the Stage division which is beset by lawlessness. All the characters are fully rounded and clearly motivated - the hero is a fiercly hard man with full justification for his use of violence to overcome the bad guys. This would have made a brilliant movie - in fact if Tom Selleck or Kevin Costner were to spot it (either of them could fit the leading role ) it still could.
