Changed my way of thinking

I've read numerous gardening books in the last year and this one was the best. Roth focuses on how to garden successfully and easily. She provides tips on what plants are likely to grow well, and what plants are more demanding (and possibly avoided!). She changed my way of thinking about gardening from what looked "pretty" and probably an expensive waste of time, to what would work and be better in the long run.

Great book for those who know very little about gardening!

I found this book by accident, and it has made me a gardener! I wanted to create a landscape that was beautiful, but not time-consuming. Not only did this book tell me how to do this, but it provides helpful, comprehensive lists of plants, trees, bushes, etc. that don't require a lot of maintenance. It provides lots of helpful suggestions that are EASY to install and maintain. The book is now a permanent part of my gardening tool box, ready to pull out whenever I need it.
