The Vain Little Butterfly is about a butterfly that becomes prideful because of his great beauty. He is mean to all the other butterflies and eventually ends up all alone because of his actions. One day he is captured in a jar by a little boy because of his great beauty. While he is trapped in the jar he realizes how mean he had been to the other butterflies. He is suddenly set free by the little boy because the little boy realizes that he should not keep the beautiful butterfly trapped in a jar. When the butterfly is set free he realizes that beauty is not the most important quality and that he should be kind to other butterflies even if they are not as "beautiful" as himself.
