Slow start but keeps you guessing

Nielsen does a fantastic job of making each character important to the reader & drawing you into a detailed story where you cheer for the heroes and despise the villains. Not many spots of magic in the first book but the writing does very well Without it. I’m excited for the second and third books

Great Read!!

Jennifer has done it again! I thought I loved her False Prince series which was excellent btw, but this book exceeded all my expectations. The chemistry between the main characters is seem less and the storyline keeps you guessing. And right when you think you figured it out she throws a twist that shakes up what you thought. Its a relief to read a book that is not so easy to predict. The book is VERY well written.

I LOVED this book! It kept me in suspense the whole time and I laughed and cried with the characters! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on bk 2 and now I can’t wait to read bk 3 when it comes out in the spring... Jennifer Nielsen is one of my favorite authors! Samantha 14

Great Book!!

This is a very good book, full of adventure and romance. The two main characters develop very well throughout the story. The story follows Kestra Dallisor and Simon Hatch. They both hate each other at first and are on opposite sides. Simon is one of the Coraks, a group of rebels. The Coraks setup a kidnapping of Kestra and have a plan to get rid of the current evil king, Lord Endrick. But they need Kestra to help them. Follow these two characters throughout this amazing story! I love this book, Jennifer A. Nielsen is one of my favorite authors!
