From these journals, Taro has selected 365 of his favorite quotations. He also includes biographical notes about each quote contributor. I was captivated by quotes by Madame Chiang Kai-shek, Sei Shonagon, Patricia Clafford, Rosa Parks, Humishuma and Lady Murasaki Shikibu. Many of the quotes are exclusive to this collection. Taro has included wise quotes from his mother and wise women in his extended family tree. There are quotes filled with humor and profound quotes filled with wisdom. I especially enjoyed the quotes by Great-Grandma Edi and Taro's Mom. Great Aunt Iko explores the idea of expectation and Aunt Kimiko defines adulthood in a creative way. Great book for everyone

I met author Taro Gold in Chicago on his book tour this month and he was as delightful and interesting as his books are. I have enjoyed all of his books but I think this one may be my favorite of all. It is called Tao of Mom but it's really a book for everyone and is probably the most diverse and thought-provoking collection of wisdom I have come across in my life.

Awesome

I love this book and have given it to every mother I know, and some fathers and kids too. Everyone I know who has read it enjoys it. Some of the quotes are profound and thought-provoking, others are funny, some are deeply inspiring. Totally gorgeous inside and out with colorful illustrations that I like to just stop and look at because they are so beautiful. It's priced so low, I think it's the best valued book I've ever bought. Makes it easy to buy a bunch as gifts, which is great because that's what I keep doing.

great gift for parents and kids

my wife gave me my own copy of this book after encouraging me every day to read her copy. I resisted at first since it sounded like a book for moms but to my delight I discovered it is an amazing resource for parents no matter if you are a mother or father. We read from it to our kids now as well and they want their own copies.

My mother loves it

My mother loves this book so much she gave it to every member of our family at her 60th birthday party. Of all times, when she's supposed to be GETTING gifts she's giving everyone else one! What an amazing gesture, and so like a great mom. This book is an incredible gathering of wisdom from hundreds of mothers around the world. I read from it every day and it often helps me see myself more clearly, appreciate my family better, and I hope it makes me a better person for it. And hopefully a better parent!
