The Substitute Wife by Dallas Schulze released on Mar 25, 2003 is available now for purchase. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is good. It's humerous & the heroine is very lovable which is very unusual as most romances have heroines who are immatured & kinda dumb. The hero is likeable too except for one stupid act (which I will not elaborate on so that I won't spoil the story) which made me doubt the veracity of his love for the heroine. This part kind of spoilt the romance for me but overall this book is still definitely worth reading.
Love this book...

This book was great! Shultze got the right mix of interesting characters and a storyline that isn't boring or stupid. I've gotten tired of this new trend where writers make their heroines pretty but ditzy, then, despite every action to the contrary, write in that the heroine is incredibly intelligent. The "marriage of convenience" plot is an old trick, but Shultze's writing style and descriptions keep the plots fresh. And while Cat Lang's not so step-sister is pretty one dimensional, her actions fit with her character and she isn't overly mean, just stupid.Don't listen to "Disappointed", even the side storyline was cute. Once you've read this, you'll rush to find Shulze's other book, like I'm going to do right now.
A Tremendously Enjoyable Read...

I've been enjoying Ms. Schulze's books for many years and kept many of them to re-read at a later date. This one's a keeper! The author creates character's that talk like real people, and have real emotions, real problems, and grow and change like real people. I enjoyed the romance between the two main characters, but, I also was fascinated at the development of a secondary romance between two male characters in the story. They were both interesting and likable characters when they first appeared on the scene and I found the development of their relationship to be very believable. I particularly enjoy the humor and the always witty dialog in Ms. Schulze's books. I highly recommend THE SUBSTITUTE WIFE.

Cat Lang is more than half in love with Luke Quintain. Unfortunately, he's engaged to her stepsister. When her stepsister dumps him to marry her high school sweetheart, she tags Cat to deliver the bad news. But every cloud has a silver lining and the silver lining here is that Luke wasn't marrying for love but to fulfill his grandfather's positively medievel demands. When Cat suggests she could take her stepsister's place, Luke says 'No.' and then he says it a couple more times before his libido overrides his common sense and he starts saying 'Yes.'Cat is a sharp and funny heroine. She's betting her heart on the outcome of a marriage of convenience. Luke is sexy and stubborn. He's sure he knows how his marriage will turn out but his years of business dealings haven't prepared him for one long-legged redhead with bedroom eyes and a smile that goes straight to the heart he'd almost forgotten he had. There's a secondary romance that's a little out of the ordinary and happy endings all around.
