A Very Well Done Collection; Informative & Understandable

I find this book really helpful in the way it starts with a really useful summary of the power of NLP, moves into the main section which organize the different patterns according to what they apply to (states, strategies, languaging, etc) and then wraps it all up with a section on how to use the patterns in the overall dance of NLP. There is a tremendous amount of interest currently in A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61). NLP creates a bridge between where most of us are, with all the voices, beliefs and limiting decisions playing in our heads, and where we'd like to be - that space of inner peace that Tolle so eloquently describes. As a practitioner of NLP and other modalities to help myself and other people achieve greater inner quiet and peace, I know that it can seem to be a long step between our current reality and A New Earth. NLP makes the transition not only possible, but easy, interesting and fun.
Invaluable Resource Material

This book and Vol 2 are perfect for anyone that uses NLP or NS, does therapy or coaching/mentoring. As previously commented, you would understand it more if you have either read User's Manual for the Brain (Bob G. Bodenhamer and L. Michael Hall) or attended an NLP course. There is so much more than you would expect, including information on Meta-Programs, just about every NLP pattern and then some. I use it as a reference and reminder for coaching. And then for self - who can't read about being gloriously fallible or maybe go over the Forgiveness Pattern? On second thoughts, this book would also be useful in business - what a concept!
The Sourcebook of Magic: A Comprehensive Guide to NLP Change Patterns

I find this book immensely helpful as a resource for the 77 NLP Patterns, and also because of the NLP introduction at the beginning. L.M.Hall outlines the different levels at which we process information highlighting the truth about sub-modalities. He then goes on to describe, "The Mechanism of Change" and how the magic works. With each pattern he provides an explanation of when to use it and precisely how. An excellent resource for those who, like me, need all the patterns in one book.
A good and useful manual!

I'm an NLP Master Pract. and I work as Human Resources Consultant. THE SOURCEBOOK OF MAGIC is a comprehensive manual with a very useful approach and a very clear style. A solid background contribute to the success of this book, the only limit, I think, is that the authors swift a glance at the techniques, without a deep approach. A manual good for NLP pract. and master pract.; other people should begin reading "The Structure of Magic" by Bandler/Grinder. I will read other books by L.Michael Hall, I liked his ideas about Semantic, Cognitive Theories (Korzibsky), etc...If you want to change experiences and ideas about NLP and Human Growth you could write me at albirub@virgilio.it
an excellent reference

an excellent continuation from the original "structure I & II". if you have a clear understanding of the meta-model, this will serve as an solid reference (and refresher) of the model, and associated patterns.if you need a more detailed explaination of the meta-model (as it exists today), get LMH's equally brilliant "secrets of magic".
