"Oh, when will it snow again?" wonders the little family who lives in the snow globe. They long for a swirling snowstorm--if only someone in the big family would pick up the snow globe and give it a great big shake. Baby would love to. She alone notices the little family. She gazes longingly at their snowy little world, but the snow globe is up way too high for her to reach. Then, when a real snowstorm sends the big children outside sledding in the moonlight, Baby finds herself alone in the parlor. . . . Will the snow globe family at last get a chance to go sledding too? As readers follow the parallel adventures of both families, big and little, they will take special pleasure in the miniature world of the snow globe, where the skating pond is the size of a shiny quarter and a snowman is no bigger than a sugar cube.
This was an accidental read. It's a cute little story of a family and about another family that lives in a snow globe. They long for the days of the hard snow storms when all would be shaken around. My girl laughed at the picture of the daddy being thrown from the bath tub. Too bad they have been forgotten. The only thing that happens is a slight snow when the maid dusts the mantle. The baby of the big family notices the family in the globe. She figures a way to climb up to the globe. She grabs it but falls over. The globe shakes and the little family gets a big storm! Time for sledding! Overall it's a cute story but the repeat reads have been only a couple. The story itself repeats a little as the big and small families do the same things.

A world within a snowglobe! Imaginative children will LOVE this book! Great illustrations, a simple but happy story, and a captivating concept will make this book a favorite--at Christmas and always. They'll never look at a snowglobe the same way again! Our four-year-old granddaughter was thrilled by it--and so was her grandmother.

I read this book in my son's kindergarten class and they all loved it. There is repetition which allows kids to predict, and participate. The story is very cute and creative I have read a lot of books in the class but this was one of the best. I highly recommend it

This book is great for teaching kids about perspective. I am an elementary school librarian, and I found that the children loved this story. There is an element of repetition that allows them to "guess" what's going to happen next. And, here in the South, the kids can really relate to the characters' wishes for snow!

This book is very entertaining. It was an enjoyable gift for a snow-globe collector, but it would be a fun read for anyone. My 2 1/2 year old loves it too. What a cute story! You'll never look at snow globes the same again!
