Great All-In-One Guide to Rabbits

The reason I've given this book 4 instead of 5 stars, is because although it is a VERY good basic rabbit book, it didn't go beyond basics enough for me. I wanted a more in debth book. It's a great starter book and very useful to read before you get your bunny so that you do not make mistakes early on. It is great as that all-in-one reference book that you WILL need. But I wanted more information on what to do if the standard advice isn't working eg with toilet training etc. I wanted more than basic info about rabbit behaviour, diet, playing and exercise etc. The lay-out is very good. It's easy to go straight to what you want. It has an extensive health section. GREAT book, but if you're not familiar with rabbits you will probably want to get some additional books. Despite this, it's much better than most basic rabbit books. I do recommend it. And a piece of advice for those thinking about getting a rabbit. They are not really low maintenance. You need to keep them indoors (not outdoors)in a hutch, as they prefere to be around people, not alone. They need to be allowed out of the hutch for as much time as possible each day, or they will get depressed. And when they are roaming free, you need to supervise them constantly as they WILL chew cords, furniture and wee on your couch (until toilet trained which can take time), unless you have them in a completely rabbit proof room, like a bathroom. They ideally want as much of your attention as a dog, but can't communicate in the same way. Unless you are a VERY responsible and compassionate pet owner I don't recommend you get one, for the bunny's sake. Having said all this, they are absolutely wonderful pets, so endearing and entertaining to watch, unbelievably cute all the time, and a constant pleasant surprise! I do recommend them as a pet.

Best Rabbit Book Out There

I've read a lot of books on house rabbits and this is by far the most useful and easy to read. I constantly refer back to it. It includes all the major areas of rabbit care, such as: choosing a rabbit, housing, nutrition, health care, travel, etc... It also has useful tips throughout the book to make life with your bunny more enjoyable. The book is written in a manner that makes it easy to understand while still going fairly in depth with the topics(plus the pictures are adorable!) I'd recommend this book for anyone who is considering a rabbit as a pet or already has one and wants to make the most out of their experience.
