Frankopan's The New Silk Roads is not a dry read. The histories of the Silk Roads and their people is fascinating!
Frankopan provides more than a superficial overview of this globe trotting history.
Understanding what motivated ancient people and the why behind historical events helps us understand the why's of today's issues.
I cannot recommend this book enough. Great for flights, days at the beach, sleepless nights, providing an exotic vacation to times and places most will never experience.
Loved it!
