Brenna Gathers returned to her hometown to help her ailing aunt, hoping to get out of small-town Sheraton Beach as soon as she could Unfortunately, once there she ran into Jabarie Beaumont, the wealthy jerk who'd jilted her at the altar. And the truth was that even though he'd broken her heart years before, she still wanted him. Jabarie had intended to sleep with Brenna and finally get her out of his system. After all, according to his father, she was nothing but a gold digger. Then Jabarie learned the truth . His father lied to keep him and Brenna apart. Now Jabarie was on a mission to show Brenna the ultimate truth. Love could be even sweeter the second time around.
This book is a little cheesy but I still gave it four stars because I was compelled to finish it. there are no real twists or turns that keep you guessing but it is really a nice love story about Black Americans that's warm and cozy. Good quick read. I love angie Daniels but this isn't her best storyline. Still well written. It flows.

I think that The Second Time Around is the best book through Kimani Press i have! I have only 20 of them though. I was actually envisioning Jabarie throughout the book and the love he had for his lady! Very well written!
Kudos and Kudos Again..

I absolutely LOVED this book. I had tear after cry after laugh after sigh going on as I turned each page. Jabarie Beaumont and Brenna Gathers had me feeling like I was actually in their shoes. Ms. Daniels did a wonderful job with character development. This is my first time reading a book written by Ms Angie Daniels but it most definitely will not be my last...
Wow!

I read in one day(while at the hair salon!) This book is sooo real and it keeps your interest!. The way the story is told you feel like you are in the story. I am sooo glad Brenna stopped playing games with Jabari. I admire Jabari's persistence! This is my first Angie Daniels novel. Two words " Loved It"
