Most books about the life of Jesus start with his birth, then jump to His ministry, and conclude with His ascension into heaven. People relate to these books because they speak about what Jesus did in the physical world. These books typically omit the activities of Jesus in the grave. This book is not one of them. This book is about the death of Jesus. It follows what Jesus did during the three days between His death and resurection. I call this story the Second Exodus. The Second Exodus explores why Jesus came to the earth, what He did while He was in Paradise, and His motivations for doing what He did. This book is a complete rewrite, from cover to cover, of the first book of the same title. It corrects many errors and adds new material and insights. The first book was my initial attempt at book writing. I have learned a great deal since then about how to organize material, English grammar, and a bit about storytelling. I also learned a great deal from my readers. Similar to the first book, I have grouped the chapters of this book into four major categories; more specifically, the Big Picture, background material, the story of the Second Exodus, and closing comments. The Big Picture outlines the spiritual history of the earth. It allows the reader to thumb rapidly through this history by sacrificing detail, clarity, and supporting scriptures. It's for the reader that wants to quickly grasp what this book is about. The next ten chapters review the Bible topics that a reader needs to understand before tackeling the Second Exodus. This material includes chapters that describe the spiritual world, the angels in the spiritual world, the Holy Spirit, and the natural world and it's occupants. This material should interest every reader. Some readers purchased the first book just for these supporting charters. For example, some were interested only in angels, and others just wanted to learn how to pray. After the supporting material, the next five chapters focus on the Second Exodus and its aftermath. They include the death of Jesus, what Jesus did in the grave, the resurrection from Paradise, what happened after the resurrection, the rapture, the second death, and the place and time of the story. At the end of this section I have included an opposing viewpoint that's popular within the Christian community and my objections to it. The last section of this book includes a chapter that gives questions and answers to popular topics, a chapter on pearls, and it ends with a chapter that summarizes this book. This summary is a miniature of the Big Picture and it reviews what the reader should have learned from this book. The research for writing this book (and the previous one) extracted from the 66 books of the Bible (the King James Version of the Old and New Testaments), the segments of scripture that glimpse into the spiritual world. Each glimpse lifts a small portion of the veil between the natural and spiritual domains to expose a moment in the activity of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, angels, and Satan. This book gathers these glimpses and constructs from them the underlying story about the spiritual activities of Jesus. It explains how Jesus destroyed the works of Satan, and it reveals what the author believes to be novel insight. This story is the Second Exodus. The Second Exodus is a string of pearls. Each pearl is a moment in the spiritual life of one or more actors in the story. The pearls are bible scriptures that give substance, insight, validity, and detail to the narrative of the story. The narrative is the string that threads the peals together into one story. This book tells that story. The narrative of the story (the string that ties the pearls together) is mostly my own. It fills in the blanks between the pearls to make a logical story. The pearls guide the story and tie it to scripture.
