Jack Sennett's dream, ever since he worked there as an usher, was to buy the small Roxy Theater. He wanted to be able to show the noir films that he loved. His dream came true only to turn into a nightmare filled with corrupt unions, dirty cops and local drug gangs. At the urging of his Mexican employee Chuey Morales he becomes a wrestling promoter. He and Chuey, a former champion luchadore known as the Savage Little Flea, begin to do well. Violence, however, once more visits Jack and soon the noir plots of his beloved movies become all too real. Betrayed on all sides, Jack and Chuey set off on a chase across Mexico in search of a renegade wrestler, stolen money and a wayward wife.
