This is a great little story about an ant who doesn't move a rubber tree plant but a silver fountain pen. It's wonderfully illustrated. At the end Shakey dies but the story is not about dying and it is rather matter-of-fact. That makes it a good book to introduce the concept without dwelling on it. Also, the depictions of children are multi-racial. So many children's books seem to imply that there are only white children in the world.
